Black Walnut Coffee Table

I recently had the pleasure of designing and building this beautiful black walnut coffee table for a wonderful couple who needed a custom piece to fit perfectly in their family room. Together, we determined that the tabletop needed to be 32 inches in diameter to suit the space, and they wanted it to complement other black walnut furniture in the room. They also requested a small drawer to store remotes or other small items, which I carefully integrated into the design. To ensure the legs added character to the piece, I shaped them to follow the same arc as the tabletop. We also included a lower shelf to hold their book collection. This project called for some new techniques, which I always welcome. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that not only serves a practical purpose but will also stand as a lasting heirloom for years to come.
